Introduction to the NHSS 12AB & D Assessments Delivered by THS Training
M1/2
Who should attend:
Anyone who has completed the NHSS 12D Module 2 Static Works on Single Carriageways training course and is looking to further their qualification and ultimately become a Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO) should consider this course.
Pre-requisites:
To enrol, you must hold a valid NHSS 12D Module 2 Static Works on Single Carriageways training certificate. Additionally, you should have gained practical experience in installing, maintaining, and removing static traffic control methods in a ‘live’ environment.
Course Aims:
By completing this course, you will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the processes and procedures necessary to safely install, maintain, and remove traffic management schemes on single carriageway roads, ultimately leading to full RTMO status.
Course Objectives:
- At least 3 successful assessments, which will cover all predetermined performance criteria as outlined in the relevant national highways sector scheme ‘logbook’.
- The initial assessment will be conducted in a ‘centre’ environment. However, all subsequent assessments must be carried out in a ‘live’ site environment.
- It is important to note that there must be a minimum of 2 weeks between each assessment.
M3
Who should attend:
This course is designed for anyone who has completed the NHSS 12D Module 3 Low Speed Dual Carriageways training course and is now looking to further their qualification and become a Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO) for this optional unit.
Pre-requisites:
To participate, you must hold a valid NHSS 12D Module 3 Static Low Speed Dual Carriageways training certificate and have gained practical experience in installing, maintaining, and removing static traffic control methods in a ‘live’ environment.
Course Aims:
This course will enable you to demonstrate a clear understanding of the processes and procedures required to safely install, maintain, and remove traffic management schemes on dual carriageways, ultimately leading to full RTMO status for this optional unit.
Course Objectives:
- You must successfully complete at least 3 assessments, which will cover all predetermined performance criteria as detailed in the relevant national highways sector scheme ‘logbook’.
- It is crucial to note that there must be at least 2 weeks between each assessment.
M4
Who should attend:
This course is intended for anyone who has completed the NHSS 12D Module 4 Convoy Working training course and is looking to further their qualification to become a Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO) for this optional unit.
Pre-requisites:
You must hold a valid NHSS 12D Module 4 Convoy Working training certificate and have gained practical experience in installing, maintaining, and removing static traffic control methods in a ‘live’ environment. Furthermore, learners must also be qualified as an M2 RTMO before completing the NHSS 12D M4 assessments.
Course Aims:
This course will equip you with the knowledge needed to safely install, maintain, and remove traffic management schemes on single carriageway roads, culminating in full RTMO status for this optional unit.
Course Objectives:
- You will be required to complete at least 1 successful assessment covering all predetermined performance criteria as detailed in the relevant national highways sector scheme ‘logbook’.
M5
Who should attend:
If you have completed the NHSS 12D Module 5 Static Works on Single Carriageways training course and wish to further your qualification, this course will help you achieve Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO) status.
Pre-requisites:
You must hold a valid NHSS 12D Module 5 Static Multi-Phase Traffic Signal training certificate and have gained practical experience in installing, maintaining, and removing multi-phase traffic signal schemes in a ‘live’ environment. Additionally, learners must be qualified as an M2 RTMO before completing the NHSS 12D M5 assessments.
Course Aims:
This course is designed to ensure you demonstrate an understanding of the processes and procedures necessary to safely install, maintain, and remove multi-phase traffic signal traffic management schemes, leading to full RTMO status for this optional unit.
Course Objectives:
- You must complete at least 2 successful assessments, covering all predetermined performance criteria as outlined in the relevant national highways sector scheme ‘logbook’.
- The initial assessment will be conducted in the ‘centre’ environment, but all subsequent assessments will need to be completed in a ‘live’ site environment.
- As with other modules, there must be at least 2 weeks between each assessment.
NHSS 12A/B Assessments
12AB
Group Size:
The group size is limited to a maximum of 2 learners.
Who should attend:
This course is intended for anyone who has completed the NHSS 12AB Operative training course and is now aiming to obtain full operative status. Please note that assessments must be completed within a two-year period, starting from the date of the first assessment.
Pre-requisites:
You must hold a valid NHSS 12AB Operative training certificate and have gained practical experience in installing, maintaining, and removing static traffic control methods in a ‘live’ environment.
Course Aims:
This course will guide you through the processes and procedures needed to safely install, maintain, and remove traffic management schemes on motorways and high-speed dual carriageway roads, ultimately leading to full TMO status.
Course Objectives:
- You will need to complete at least 3 successful site-based assessments and 1 centre assessment, covering all the predetermined performance criteria as detailed in the relevant Lantra Awards logbook.
- All assessments must be carried out in a ‘live’ site environment, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant sector scheme document.
- As with the other modules, there must be at least 2 weeks between each assessment.
