Summary
Welcome to the National Highway Sector Scheme 12D course. This course covers the installation and removal of temporary traffic management on rural and urban roads.
Target Audience
This course is designed for anyone looking to become a Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO), as outlined in the Sector Scheme Document 12D. Before progressing to the 12D M2 training, you’ll need to complete the 12D M1 training.
Once you’ve completed the 12D M2 training course, you’ll need to undergo a series of on-site assessments as specified in the Sector Scheme Document. These assessments must be finished within two years from the date you pass the training.
It’s important to note that each learner must be assessed individually. While carrying out traffic management operations, unregistered Traffic Management Operatives must always be supervised on a one-to-one basis by an appropriately registered Traffic Management Operative (this cannot be the assessor). You can find more information about this in the NHSS12D Sector Scheme Document. Also, make sure to review the minimum competency requirements for gang sizes, found on page 23 of the document, to ensure safety during assessments.
Important Note: M2 status must always be maintained. If your M2 skills registration card expires, it will invalidate any skills registration cards you hold for M3, M4, M5, and M6, which were initially achieved when the M2 card was valid.
