Summary / Introduction
This course aligns with the National Highway Sector Scheme 12D for installing and removing temporary traffic management on rural and urban roads.
Target Audience
The 12D M4 qualification targets individuals aiming to become Registered Traffic Management Convoy Working Operatives as described in the Sector Scheme Document 12D.
To qualify as a 12D M4 Operative, learners must complete the NHSS 12D T1/T2 course. They must also be in the process of registering or already registered as a 12D M2 Operative before applying for the M4 category.
Upon finishing the 12D T4 training, learners must complete a single on-site assessment as outlined in the Sector Scheme Document. They must finish this assessment within two years to ensure they maintain their competency.
Each learner will be assessed individually. As per the NHSS12D Sector Scheme Document, unregistered Traffic Management Operatives must be supervised on a one-to-one basis by a registered operative during traffic management operations and capability assessments. The assessor cannot act as the supervisor. Minimum competency requirements for gang sizes, found on page 23 of the document, must be met throughout the assessment. Learners not undergoing assessment must stay in a safe location at all times.
